On the 6th of December, My class had a Class Party and we had it at the Olympic Pools. But it started to storm but we still had the party. Once my Mum and I got there I was so excited. So once I got there and went inside I got my armband and then I went straight to the changing rooms and got in my togs and put my bag where we were sitting and there went into the pool. Then I was time to have something to eat and we had sausage sizzles and then we had a photo. Once we had the photo most people went back into the pools.
Then it was time for me and Kate to do our little speech for the year 6s and then the year 5s gave out the secret Santa gifts and once we got our secret Santa gifts we got a Chocolate cover ice cream that had coconut on it. Then it was time to have another photo with our gifts and then we had to get ready to go.
I had a lot of fun at the class party and I was quite tired when I got home and I hope we have another class party next year

Once we got to the show grounds we put our bags by a tree and then when under a tent and then we play a game while we were waiting. Then Papa Pura (Our Kapa Haka teacher) came and we did our school song. Then it was our time to shine.
Once we got on the stage it was the Juniors time to shine. Once we finished the Juniors bracket the Juniors went off the stage and then it was the Seniors turn to shine. Then the Juniors went down to the front of the stage and watched the Seniors bracket. Once we Finished our Senior Bracket we went outside and had to have a photo and then we went back inside and watched the rest of the schools. Once the rest of the schools were done we got into our line for the mass haka.
Once we finished the mass haka we got back on the bus and went back to school and then got dressed out of the dresses and then people started to go home.
I had a lot of fun doing the Kapa haka festival.

Makaraka went to Tamararo
Tamararo
On the 3rd of September we had tamararo. But sadly some people couldn't come. If you don't know what Tamararo is well it is basically kapa haka but you compete against other school like high school intermediate and primary.
For me I felt SO NERVOUS but once we got on stage I was all good.
For the girls we had to:
Put on our kapa haka school dresses on.
Get our hair done in a donut bun and put the ribbon around the bun
and put feathers in our hair.
Get our moko and put on black lipstick on.
For the boys they had to:
Put their puapua on.
Get their ta moko.
Get one of our school jacket.
Then we were off to the show grounds to perform. Once we got to the show grounds we had a little practise of our bracket and then it was time to go on stage. Then we were off doing all of our songs and hakas.
I want to thank the people that helped out with the hair and the mokos and for all the support we had when we were on stage.
